How often have you pushed a trolley and thought
If this sounds familiar then you are in luck because I have been there and done that!
I have a family of four, a husband, 2 dogs and a cat all of whom have to be fed daily. In fact we all bring lunch from home into school and work so maintaining and running my kitchen is a job in itself. I try not to waste food so a lot of what I cook gets recycled into lunch the next day in pitta breads or on pasta or with couscous.
We also grow our own food in a Polytunnel so I have a back up of herbs, tomatoes and courgettes in the summer and salad crops all year round. This is great for rustling up fast easy meals.
I find that planning and pre-preparation is essential if you want to run a cost effective kitchen.

My mother said it was simple to keep a man, you must be a maid in the living room, a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom. I said I’d hire the other two and take care of the bedroom bit.
Now there is a thought -if you take care of the kitchen will you pay someone to take care of the bedroom ?
Agh no it will leave you more time for the bedroom bit and he will be impressed ! (Sexist I know but the only equality in a relationship is the cheque book !)
So for the first time ever I am revealing my tried and tested family favourites and collating them in an easy to use 4 week guide to family meals. The single biggest mistake busy mums make is having no meal plan for the week and then end up rushing into the shops on the way home and buying expensive fast cuts of meat and ready made meals.
This book will show you how you can shop once a week and have pre planned menus and dinners ready in advance from day to day.
With a few store cupboard staples the recipes connect and link together to make for easy use and consecutive days dinners.
All the recipes have been tried and tested on hungry teenagers and their friends
